Food for Thought - Mucosa - The First Line of Defence

I post blogs referring to "the cause of health" frequently. And as we know the medical industry is completely focussed on the cause of disease. As I've said many times the cause of health is defined primarily by clean inputs to the body, which includes clean air, clean water, clean whole foods, good sleep, and constructive social connections.

I want to make one point about chemicals that are injected into the body, regardless of whether they are "clean" inputs or not: They bypass the first line of defense against toxic inputs, and that is the sense of smell and taste.

When animals are first presented with a "new" substance that may be "food", they smell them. Then if they are not offensively odiferous they may gingerly have a taste. Then if the substance "passes"  both tests they may go on to consume said "food".

We breathe in and out some 22,000 times in a day. A primary function of the turbinate sinus cavities is to "swirl" in-breath air so as to "attach" a sampling of the millions of microscopic particles to the "sticky" mucosal tissues lining the sinuses.

The mucosal lining job is to detect among the microscopic particles those that are toxic within milliseconds of landing on the turbinate mucosal linings, and then the nervous system transmits that critical information to the brain at near the speed of electricity.

And then immediately, if necessary, we involuntarily sneeze. This is the first line of defense against, for example, dangerous airborne viruses. And if the sneeze isn't stifled, it's a damn good defence system.

And it's the same with the taste buds and mucosal linings of the mouth...if we accidentally put some toxin in our mouth, we involuntarily spit it out immediately.

Injectables BYPASS the critical first line of defense in our superbly complex immune system.

Food for thought.
