About 5 decades ago I stopped watching a lot of TV, not as a deliberate choice, it was more that I didn't find much of interest there. When I would turn on "TV news" during the pandemic it seemed to me the ratio of honest content to misinformation had deteriorated quite significantly in comparison to much of the health related content I've been following for over a decade via the internet. This content is provided by research scientists, medical doctors, and other health care providers who work diligently to provide information that might help to reverse the obesity epidemic and consequent destruction of health, particularly in the US, which as we know has the worst health outcomes of any developed county.
There is great institutional resistance to this health constructive information, particularly in the US, which is probably most easily explained by the fact historically huge profits are made in both the creation of chronic diseases via addictive "food like" substances, and their so called treatments via pharmaceutical drugs.
And yes I get that "food" addictions are some of the most difficult to overcome. So difficult that many of us will die prematurely as a result of them. The irony of course is better diet and lifestyle choices are absolutely free, and regardless of the deceptive information we are fed continuously (to keep us in the "health care" system of profit generation), better diet and lifestyle choices are only path to vibrant health.
One of the values of this interview with Martin Kulldorff is it makes clear the degree to which the truth about the cause of health is sacrificed on the alter of profit. There are other values you will find as well as you listen to the discussion:
